John is a writer and professor who has decided to live out the last few days of his life in London. Diagnosed with lung cancer and dementia, John’s behaviour becomes increasingly erratic, culminating in the attempted choking of his wife Martha. Despite Martha’s deep feelings for him, she feels compelled to leave John out of fear of her own safety. Upset with her leaving, John becomes totally consumed with getting her back, resulting in intense, vivid dreams and delusional fantasies about Martha. Feeling isolated and helpless, John decides he wants to be remembered after his death, and so all his outstanding works must be published. To facilitate this aim, he makes contact with both his ex-wife Sayeh and estranged children, Parisa and Parham to ask for their help. In spite of their difficult history, Parham, a doctor living in America, returns to get some answers for some burning questions about their past. Sayeh, his former wife, also returns to help him out of a sense of duty. Upon arriving, Sayeh soon finds that she still cares for him, reading him books and reminding him of memories from their shared past. However, John, who is still in a fragile state, shows no interest in her affections, instead of yearning for one his true love – Martha. Sadly for John, Matha will not be by his side during the last few days of his life. For she will only return to haunt him in his dreams, leading to one big dramatic, final showdown…
